Additional Costs
- Housing. Accommodations were booked by the attendee directly with Conference Services (on-campus) or the Garden South Park Inn (off-campus). Please see the Housing link on this site for additional information.
- Meals. Breakfasts, evening meals, and the closing banquet are at personal expense. Buffet breakfast is available in the campus dining hall at a cost of approximately $7 CAD; the Garden South Park Inn offers a complimentary continental breakfast for guests. For evening meals, there are dozens of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets within walking distance or a short cab ride of campus. Tickets for the closing banquet ($75) may be purchased upon registration.
- Parking. On-campus parking was $9.27 CAD per day for a visitor permit. Metered parking on campus and free parking on the side streets surrounding campus were also available (but please note posted time restrictions). Permits were purchased at the front desk of Risley Hall (guests only) or at Dalhousie Security Services (single-day visitors). Parking at the Garden South Park Inn was $12 CAD per day.
- Excursions. We arranged a number of optional half- and full-day excursions for Tuesday June 22nd and Saturday June 26th, respectively. Prices varied by excursion, and included a boxed lunch, transportation, and any entrance/participation fees associated with the excursion. Excursion tickets were purchased upon registration.
Single Day Registration – New for 2010
We offered a limited number of single-day registrations, primarily as a convenience for local high school and community college educators. Single-day registration was available after May 1st, and included the opening reception, the new members’ breakfast on Wednesday June 23rd, and lunch and breaks on the day of attendance. Single-day attendees were also welcome to purchase tickets for the closing banquet and excursions.
