On Campus
ABLE Conference attendees wishing to stay on the UO campus were able to reserve rooms in the newest UO living unit, The Global Scholars Hall (GSH). The GSH was also be the site of lunches, the Hayden-McNeil/W.H. Freeman sponsored mixer and the closing banquet.
First Arrival Date for guests in the GSH: Monday, June 16, 2014. Late Departure Date for guests in GSH: Sunday, June 22, 2014 by Noon
The room rates for GSH were as follows:
- Double Occupancy Room Only: $49.00 per person per night
- Single Occupancy Room Only: $62.00 per person per night
These room rates included lodging, linens, and daily towel service. Guests were responsible for providing their own toiletries.
Breakfast
For anyone that wanted to purchase breakfast during their stay, they did so at Carson Dining Facility for $8.25 per person. Carson Dining was open 7 am – 9:30 am daily during the summer and was an all you care to eat dining facility. Also, Dux Bistro located in the LLC North Building was open 7 am-8 pm daily. All dining facilities are open to the public and accept cash, credit cards, and debit cards.
Parking
Parking Passes are available for $10.00 per day per vehicle in Lots 52, 53, & 54. These lots are close to the GSH. The UO does not charge for parking on Saturdays or Sundays. Parking permits could be purchased in advance when conference participants registered or parking permits could be purchased on site at the time of check-in. If individuals paid on site, housing only accepted cash or check.
Off campus
A block of rooms was reserved for ABLE conference participants at the Best Western New Oregon Motel and the Holiday Inn Express. Both hotels are within easy walking distance to the University of Oregon campus. When making reservations, participants were required to identify themselves with the “ABLE Conference.” Reservation were made by May 17, 2014 to be guaranteed the conference rate.

^Commencement ceremonies for UO will be taking place June 14th, 15th, and 16th, so space will be very limited on those days, except in the dorms starting on the 16th.
