The Biology Teaching Assistant Project (BioTAP) is an NSF-funded Research Coordination Network working to improve the teaching professional development (TPD) of biology graduate teaching assistants (GTAs).
As part of this initiative, the network is starting a new BioTAP Scholars program with a goal to build capacity in research on biology GTA TPD programs.
BioTAP Scholars will work together over the 2017-2018 academic year to conduct research on a biology GTA TPD program. Working together as a network will generate new evidence to inform recommendations for the improvement of biology GTA TPD. All are invited to apply and no research experience is necessary.
The application for the program (due January 20) can be found on the BioTAP website at: http://biotap.utk.edu/biotap-scholars-application/.
Please note that the first cohort of BioTAP Scholars will be meeting for the day and a half just prior to the 2017 ABLE meeting in Wisconsin!
The website provides additional information, but if you have other questions, feel free to contact Beth Schussler (University of Tennessee; eschussl@utk.edu).
