  • *Jack and Benny’s (2563 N High St–corner of Hudson and High) – Go early – extremely popular and gets very crowded after 9am; great small diner atmosphere; the pancakes are worth the trip; take the COTA #2 to High and Hudson (~5 min)

  • *The Crest (2855 Indianola Ave) – American-style gastropub and bar; if you’re using Google Maps, search by the address, not the name – there’s also a “The Crest” on Parsons Ave, which is much farther away
  • Hot Chicken Takeover (4203 N High St) – Nashville-style hot chicken; best fried chicken ever and all the free tea you can drink.
  • *Hounddogs 3 Degree Pizza (2657 N High Street) – great pizza, edgy rock and roll atmosphere; order your pizza with “Smokin’ Joe’s” crust – herbed garlic butter!
  • *Ray Ray’s Hog Pit (2619 N High Street) – One of Columbus’ best food trucks; real-deal BBQ; featured on Food Network’s show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives; get a banana pudding to share! Go on Saturday for a unique, that-day-only special menu item
  • Aladdin’s Eatery (2931 N High St) – Mediterranean – chain
  • *Lavash Cafe (2985 N High St) – Mediterranean – Local Columbus restaurant

    • Indoor market building with international food vendors: American, Mediterranean, Thai, Vietnamese, Nepali, Indian, Barbecue, Polish, Jeni’s Ice Cream, Hot Chicken Takeover, coffee, bubble tea; pro: you don’t have to pick just one place to eat, next to beautiful Goodale Park; con: closes at 7pm
  • *Cap City Fine Diner and Bar (1299 Olentangy River Road)
  • Hofbräuhaus Columbus (800 Goodale Blvd) **- just such a fun and lively environment with WONDERFUL food! Bauren Schnitzel is my go to. 
  • *Schmidt’s Sausage Haus and Restaurant (240 E Kossuth Street); get a cream puff and plan on sharing it – they’re HUGE

  • *Cooper’s Hawk Winery (4230 The Strand, Easton Towne Center)
  • *Akai Hana (1173 Old Henderson Rd) – One of the city’s best spots for sushi or noodles.

  • *Hounddog’s 3rd Degree Pizza (2661 N High St) – Cool rock and roll dive bar atmosphere (yes, you’re “cool enough” to go!); two pool tables; worth the trip
  • *Old North Arcade (2591 N High St) – Play free with drink purchase; arcade games plus air hockey, pinball, Dance Dance Revolution, console games, and some patio games (cornhole, Giant Jenga)
  • Seventh Son Brewery (1101 N 4th St)
  • Hoof Hearted Brewery (850 N 4th St)
  • Union Cafe (782 N High St) – Columbus’ premier LGBTQ bar with a decent lunch and dinner menu
