Join us for a trip to Assiniboine Park and Zoo, only a short drive from the University of Manitoba.
Explore The Leaf, an indoor attraction with four unique biomes, and visit the famous Journey to Churchill exhibit to see polar bears and other Arctic animals up close.

Urban nature space For FortWhyte Alive
Discover the beauty of nature within the city at FortWhyte Alive! Step back in time on a guided tour of the prairies, where majestic bison once roamed freely, leaving their mark on Canada’s rich history. Take a paddle in a voyageur canoe on Lake Elliott and enjoy a self-guided hike.
- The shuttle bus departs from campus at 9:00 AM and returns from FortWhyte Alive at 2:00 PM.
- Group size: 20 people.
- Cost: Tentatively $65 USD (includes transportation, bison tour, canoeing, and lunch).

Canadian Museum for Human Rights
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) is the only museum in the world entirely dedicated to the story of human rights for all. Conveniently accessible by public transit from campus, this is your chance to explore a truly inspiring destination.
While you are there, take time to explore The Forks, a national historic site located at the confluence of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers. Stroll through the vibrant Forks Market, filled with unique shops and delicious eateries.
- Pick up your museum and public bus tickets and enjoy a self-paced, self-directed tour of this museum.

Bannock Point Petroforms at Whiteshell Provincial Park
Located 90 minutes from Winnipeg, Bannock Point Petroforms (stone formations) are situated within Whiteshell Provincial Park. These ancient petroforms were created thousands of years ago by the Indigenous peoples of Manitoba and are considered a sacred site. They serve as tools to educate, tell stories, and record history.
