RABLE 2015 Presenters

Information for Presenters, Submission Details:

We hosted two types of workshops, both majors (2 hours and 15 minutes in length) and medium workshops (1 hour and 30 minutes). The slight departure from the standard ABLE format is due to the fact that we have attended many mini workshops with the thinking, “Wish we had more time with this presenter!”

The guidelines and selection rubric were the same as those used for the annual ABLE conferences.

Major proposals included the following information:

• Workshop title and name(s)of presenters
• Abstract describing the proposed workshop (300 words maximum).
• Student laboratory handout (what students in the class would be given).
• A list of equipment and supplies needed for a class of 25 students.
• Notes for the Instructor on how the experiment works.
• Sample results.
• A description of how you will present the laboratory to conference participants.
• Student/TA evaluations of this exercise as a learning experience (optional)

Medium workshop proposals included the above information although the laboratory handout, instructor notes and sample results were not expected to be as detailed as for major workshops. Proposals for both major and medium workshops were due by November 14th, 2014. Presenters were notified shortly after this date. Workshop presenters were granted a registration fee waiver.
