Regional ABLE (RABLE) Conference
Saturday, October 8, 2016
8:00AM – 5:00PM
Shenandoah University, Winchester, VA
Shenandoah University hosted a Regional ABLE conference on October 8, 2016. This meeting provided area lab instructors the opportunity to experience a shortened version of an annual ABLE conference. Attendees participated in a three-hour major workshop during the morning and two medium length workshops during the afternoon. During the major workshops attendees had a hands-on lab experience, allowing them to ask questions and determine whether the lab would be a good fit for their curriculum. The medium length workshops were a combination of mini hands-on activities and group discussions about specific labs or lab related topics.
Applications for major and medium workshops were accepted between July 1 and August 1. In addition to new labs, participants were allowed to submit a workshop that had been previously presented at an annual ABLE conference. This meeting was also a great opportunity for attendees to test-run new labs they had, designed prior to presenting it to their students. RABLE presenters received a registration waiver.
Group rate hotel rooms were available at the Hampton Inn near campus. While the 2016 RABLE conference targeted Mid-Atlantic members, participants from all over were welcome.
