The Association for Biology Laboratory Education (ABLE) Board members welcome you to attend the 42nd Annual ABLE conference in an online platform. The Virtual ABLE (ViABLE) conference will take place over the course of four days, June 17, 18, 24, and 25, 2021. We are holding the conference each day from approximately 9:00am – 4:00pm PDT (UTC -7), as noted on the tentative schedule. The online format will allow us to maintain all necessary safety precautions during pandemic conditions.
Due to the online format, conference sessions will be a little different from our standard format, with presenters still able to share their tested biology labs and teaching pedagogies. Session formats will include:
Majors:
- synchronous labs,
- lab discussions (asynchronous labs with synchronous discussions),
Minis:
- presentations,
- panel discussions, and
Posters:
- posters.
All lab formats are welcome, but presenters were encouraged to share labs and teaching methods they developed for online and hybrid delivery. More details about session types, and abstracts of each when selected, can be found at the Conference Sessions menu.
Sincerely,
The Conference Planning Committee:
Laurel Rodgers (chair), Alp Oran, Adam Andrews, Angela Seliga, Donna Pattison, Hans Lemke, Amy Marion, Kimberly Curry, and Megan Cole
