Debby Luquette from Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland says:
"Barbara, I have no one story that stands out as a WOW! moment. The whole conference was memorable. The workshops I attended were great - and I will be working the ideas into next semester's labs and lectures. Strolling through Longwood Garden provided a relaxed ambiance to talk over the conference activities, catch up on the past year with old friends and, importantly, make new friends. The coastal salt marsh/horseshoe crab field trip was wonderful. And, of course, it was the folks who organized the whole conference and the folks who attended it who made the experience memorable."
Sheryl Shanholtzer from Georgia Perimeter College and other ABLE participants enjoyed the Zebra Fish Mini Workshop in addition to many other great Mini Workshops.
Marielle Hoefnagels and Susan Moore both attended the Podcast Major Workshop. Marielle writes about the workshop in her article and you can view a podcast made by a participant who attended the workshop at http://www.ableweb.org/conf/media/media.html. Susan Moore used what she learned from the Podcast workshop to make her own podcast which you can see on the first page of Labstracts.
In this issue of Labstracts you will find a calendar of events, news, and information about past and upcoming meetings. I hope you enjoy this issue and feel free to write an article for Labstracts at any time! Just send it to me at bstegenga@bio.unc.edu. See you at the next conference in Halifax!
