Academic Background
I received a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in Botany from
the University of Connecticut and my PhD from the University of Arizona,
Tuscon. At that time my husband was on active duty in the Air Force. While
overseas, I taught a course in ecology for the University of Maryland,
European campus. When we returned to the US I taught part-time at the
University of South Carolina, Sumter for several years. We moved to Atlanta,
Georgia and I worked at Emory University as a research associate in the
Department of Biochemistry and then in the Department of Physiology.
I taught at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia for five years in
a non-tenure track position prior to moving to the State University of
West Georgia.
