Statement:I received my Ph.D. in Ecology from the Institute of Ecology at the University of Georgia in 1999. From Athens, I moved down the road to Atlanta and Emory University. Since 1999, I have been a lecturer in the Department of Biology. I teach lecture and laboratory courses in ecology and evolutionary biology. I also teach the lecture component of introductory organismal biology. Finally, I spend considerable time supervising undergraduate research in ecology and animal behavior. I have been an active participant in ABLE since 2000. I have attended all of the annual meetings since joining ABLE. At LSU, I co-presented a major workshop. I will be co-presenting another major workshop at this year’s meeting. As a member-at-large, I would help to continue broadening the relationships between ABLE and other professional organizations. Also, I would work with other members to identify sources of funding for development of laboratory curricula.
