President's Report William V. Glider

Here at UNL, football fever has finally subsided (it never ceases), and I find myself already a month into the new semester. Somehow in this time period I have managed to participate in the writing of an NSF grant, writing lectures for a new course, and revising a series of lab exercises for our majors biology course. One day before I retire, I will learn not take on so many projects! Therefore I am only going to provide a brief update to ABLE business that has been completed or are works in progress.
The above are only a few of the ongoing projects currently being undertaken by ABLE members. You will all be informed as the outcomes of these and other projects at the Purdue conference. I would like to call on all of you to spread the word about ABLE - recruit, recruit, recruit. I want to see a larger number than normal participants at the Purdue meeting and a huge increase in our 2005-2006 membership. Our best advertising is by word-of -mouth to our colleagues in the U.S. and Canada as to the incredible value of belonging to ABLE and the worth of attending ABLE conferences. I hope to see you all at Purdue this summer. Bill Glider
