Tested Studies in Laboratory Teaching, 2012, Volume 33

Abstract
The Physiology Boot Camp model was piloted in Fall 2010 as a full day of training prior to the start of teaching. Session 1 included policy and ethics skits, Session 2 incorporated role-playing while actively teaching, and Session 3 was a modified version of the first lab experiment. After the boot camp, time spent training and assisting new and repeat staff was reduced from approximately 5-10 hours to 2-3 hours per week. Each training session is easily adaptable for lab-based courses with a variety of teaching staff members.
